2010: Ready for Change?

by debbie on December 20, 2009

The New Year is right in front of us!  If you are energized, clear about what you want and how to go for it, read no further.

If you’re unsure, feeling foggy, stuck or concerned about what’s next, check out The Five Questions below and lay the groundwork to make 2010 your best year yet!

Personally, I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions.  What is pronounced on January 1 usually evaporates by January 11.

Instead, success happens when you become very clear about your dreams and passions; your goals are written down as a plan; and then you live your life from that place.   I’ve been a life and executive coach for 14 years, and I swear by this formula.  It is key to your soul’s satisfaction and to having what you want!

Ask Woman on Fire Laurie Forster, a former software sales executive, who transformed her passion for wine into becoming a wine educator, author, speaker and media celebrity as The Wine Coach®.

Or, Holly Getty who continues to work a day job for a fashion icon and yet in the evenings and on weekends has parlayed her skills to help people create their signature style from “the inside out.”

And, then there’s Nellie Partow who isn’t even 30 years old.  She set out to be a fashion designer and a champion boxer.  And, she accomplished BOTH!

And, we can’t forget Dr. Robyn Silverman, a child development expert. Her career was humming along beautifully when what she really longed for was to be a Mom.  This year, in a surprising and beautiful way, she became the mother to Talia Paige Silverman AND a regular guest expert on The Tyra Banks Show!

Each of these Women on Fire is a fabulous, normal woman just like you!  Each reached deep inside to find the love they had to give to the world – and then created a plan to make it happen.  You can, too.

To get yourself started, answer these Five Questions:

* Am I living in the location of my dreams?

* Am I doing everything possible to optimize my health and wellness?

* What are my sources for love, happiness and support?

* What is my deepest passion and is it driving my life?

* What do I want to be saying about my life 12 months from now?

Enjoy what you discover in writing down your answers!  Over the next few weeks, I’ll explore each of the questions and share strategies to help you move toward a more fulfilling life.

Let’s keep the conversation going. Please leave your comments below. I would love to hear what you are thinking.

Happy, happy holidays!

With big wishes for you to live the life you really want ~
Debbie

Your 5 questions are so powerful....and to be honest, were not what I expected. I have often thought about the last 2 questions....but have not considered the first 3 seriously. I plan to take some time these next two weeks while I'm on winter break from teaching to write down my answers to each of these 5 questions. I feel empowered already!
    Thanks, Debbie.
    Wishing you a Blessed Christmas,

  • And, I love your new book, Pat! "The Dog At My Planner" http://ow.ly/IyQG
  • The 5 questions are so great! I had lunch with mom and we talked about them. It was so fun to hear her thoughts on life and to share a special moment about our futures. Thanks Debbie!
  • How sweet, Melissa. Music to my ears:-) Thanks for writing!!
  • I love the five questions, Debbie! And although I agree that New Year's Resolutions have a way of dissolving, January is a wonderful time to re-examine what we're doing, what fires us up, and even set a theme for the year. Thanks for giving us something to think about besides last-minute shopping!
  • These are wonderful questions for us all to ask ourselves! Even as someone who helps people who struggle with their weight & body image, I too do not believe in resolutions. Instead, I believe in finding things other than food to nourish and fulfill your life. And living the life you really want is a big tool in doing that

Thanks for reminding us that we need to find what WE love, and what fills us inside -- as I truly believe that's when it starts to show on the outside, in more ways than one.
  • So true, Dinneen! Totally applies. Thank you for your beautiful comments!
