Great post! I love the image of the happy dance at the end of the walk. Celebrating is an underrated part of taking care of ourselves. My theme this year is "unfolding." (Last year was "Transformation" so unfolding seemed like the right follow-up.)

Today I received an email that contained your "Love something, lost something" article. I have never heard of you before or read the things you write but I absolutely loved what you wrote...

"So this is just a love note from me to you to remind you that no matter who or
what you have loved, lost, or are afraid of, you are not alone. Downturns are
temporary. And, the birds will sing tomorrow.".... You have no idea how perfect the timing for me to read this article was! I lost the most important person in my life last year and just failed at making a big dream of mine a reality....I feel like my downturn won't end. But you are right: the birds will sing tomorrow! And for that I want to say THANK YOU! You are very inspiring!!

Facing a tough time in NYC..I recently learned of this group and thus missed the recent gathering in you had in NYC. Wnat to amke new friends and become part of a circle...As I face this crisis, I have retreated, froze in my tracks and continue to plow ahead but it is tough. Anyway look forward to meeting any members who may be in NYC area for tea and conversation.
Namaste, Ingrid.

Debbie,
When I lost my mother, it was a horrible time for me. There were some incredible acts of kindness that helped get me through it. When telling a friend of mine about some of them, she simply said "There are angels that enter our life, some will remain there and some are there just for that moment". I have often thought about that. Best of luck with everything and allow your "angels" to support you.

I go on work conferences; because the benefit of the trips, is the downtime that is scheduled in between lectures, and the bliss of a quiet hotel room, waiting for me that night.

what a lovely element. Surprise! We kids did it 4 times since Mom turned 60, She's a a Leap Year baby. You'd think she would have caught on by now. At age 84, we gave her a surprise 21st B-day. Literally carded her before she could have the champagne.

Now--with 96 her next birthday and on hospice in a memory care unit, these "surprises" are precious memories for us.

Thanks for writing.
