I am sitting amid papers, boxes and open suitcases — all in preparation — to leave for this week’s Women on Fire Retreat in Chicago.
I am eating when I remember to, praying everyone arrives safely in Chicago and absolutely loving that I will be with so many phenomenal women all day next Friday and Saturday!
Many of you will be attending. And I can’t wait for you to experience the powerful connections you will make and the inspiration, strategies and support you’ll get from the many people you’ll meet and learn from.
I also know many of you wanted to come but won’t be able to, so we have a plan to include you. Woman on Fire Melissa McClain has agreed to be our social media reporter and she will write updates on Facebook and Twitter throughout the two-day retreat. She’ll share nuggets of inspiration and wisdom from keynote speakers Stedman Graham, Janette Barber and the co-authors of the Women on Fire book.
You’ll find these frequent updates on my Facebook page as well as my Twitter account which is @womanonfire. Search for the latest information on the conference by going to #WOFR. If you are at the retreat and you want to post something on Twitter during our breaks, please use this tag after your “tweets” — #WOFR — and then everyone will see what you have to say.
Even if you’re not in Chicago, you can still be with us!
Today’s SPARK! is a five-minute video of author Elizabeth Gilbert sharing what is the essence of her best-selling book Eat, Pray, Love. What she has to say is pure inspiration and evocative of the feeling I hope many of you get from attending the Retreat and by being a part of Women on Fire. Please hang in there through the Border’s commercial…it’s worth it!

In next week’s SPARK! I will share some of the inspiration and strategies from the Retreat. Until then, please stay close and follow along on Facebook or Twitter as “women on fire” from 15 states and Canada gather in Chicago for our annual retreat.
