March’s Book To Live By

Hardly a month goes by that you don’t see an article on the mental health crisis of anxiety in our society.

Reports reflect on the epidemic levels of stress and depression affecting all ages, income levels and walks of life.

As a coach for more than 20 years, I have often seen how debilitating panic attacks and stress-related problems prevent people from fully living their lives.

There is one book I super excited about that offers easy and quick solutions for those awful moments when you or a loved one suffers from anxiety. And it is my pleasure to announce that it is our March Book To Live By:

Goodbye Anxiety, Hello Freedom: How to Build Resilience and Overcome Anxiety by Stephanie Dalfonzo

Goodbye Anxiety, Hello Freedom by Stephanie Dalfonzo

The topic is so critical and the book so valuable that this is the second time we are recommending it.

The author is a dear Women on Fire sister who generously comes to the aid of other members to answer their questions on anxiety and offer her strategies for relief and comfort.

The book is easy to read and follow. It offers dozens of tools and tips that can be used anytime and anyplace.

I am so proud of Stephanie for conquering her own anxiety and then sharing her hard-won wisdom and years of experience with all of us.

April’s Book To Live By

For many – if not most – of us, stress and anxiety can be a regular part of everyday life. It could arise from such common situations as business meetings or social engagements – or perhaps even when you take a flight or drive your car.

Maybe you’re experiencing some anxiety now from the looming tax return deadlines.

Sometimes the simplest things can summon sweaty palms, a dry mouth and a pounding heart.

Wouldn’t it be great to know something just as simple could calm you down?

There is!

I am thrilled to announce that the April 2018 Women on Fire Book to Live By selection is:

Goodbye Anxiety, Hello Freedom: How to Build Resilience and Overcome Anxiety by Stephanie Dalfonzo

Goodbye Anxiety, Hello Freedom by Stephanie Dalfonzo

The author is a Women on Fire member and already many of her Women on Fire sisters have successfully applied her easy-to-use techniques to vanquish their anxiety.

I’ll let you hear what Women on Fire members said after putting into use the book’s 40 some strategies and practices:

“As an ANXIOUS passenger on flights throughout the year, I was very excited when I heard about Goodbye Anxiety, Hello Freedom. Her simple and practical methods helped me through my anxiety!

“Stephanie writes like she’s talking to you over a cup of green tea–one of the many strategies for quieting anxiety. This book is one you’ll want to purchase and refer back to over and over again. I am also eager to share her methods with my 14-year-old daughter as a means to deal with the many challenges kids have today.”   ~ Laurie Forster, entrepreneur

“Do you want to ease your anxiety with techniques that don’t need a prescription? I highly recommend this book as an anxiety-free toolbox to carry with you in life. With these tools, you will become a calmer, happier person.”  ~ Mary Brown, international flight attendant

Goodbye Anxiety, Hello Freedom is easy to read and understand. Stephanie Dalfonzo has taken her 20 years of scientific research into anxiety and translated it into layperson’s language. Her writing style and sense of humor make her personal stories feel real for me; they became situations I could easily relate to.

“I’ve read the Kindle version of this book, which is convenient, and I also plan to buy several hard copies–one for myself as a handy reference and others to give away to dear friends and family who, like most of us, are suffering from one kind of anxiety or another. I highly recommend this book.”   ~ Mary Lou Peters, artist

“Stephanie Dalfonzo has created a practical guide to learn strategies and techniques that are easily understood and can be called on anytime. The book provides a thorough overview, but then quickly moves to exercises that have been proven in the science of the brain.”   ~ Barbara Hogan

“I totally LOVED this book! It’s not just a bunch of psychology on anxiety. These are hands-on exercises you can do right now to help with anxiety and stress. Plus, Stephanie’s down-to-earth and friendly writing style makes it really comforting to read and to know I’m not alone and I can get through anything.”   ~ Shannon McCaffery, marketing entrepreneur

The book also includes links to download bonus meditations and videos.

Congratulations, Stephanie, for sharing anti-anxiety strategies to truly change the way we relate to ourselves and the world – giving us much-needed relief to tame life’s chaotic challenges.
